St. Paul's C/E Infant School
School term dates below
St. Pauls C/E Infant School is a ninety place infant school educating children aged from four to seven years of age from Tongham and the surrounding areas of both Surrey and Hampshire.
The children are organised into three single age class groups:
Beech Class - Reception
Rowan Class - Year 1
Elm Class - Year 2
As this is a small school, each child is known individually to all
members of the staff.
In addition to the class teachers, we are able to provide classroom assistants throughout the school.
We try to involve all the children in the running of the school by giving them a variety of small tasks to be responsible for, we hope that this helps them towards the independence they all need.
During the year we hold parent interviews when parents may discuss their children and their progress with teachers privately.
We are all concerned for the well-being the children and so if any parent has concerns or worries about anything we ask them to contact either the childs class teacher in the first instance, or the Headteacher.
School Times
School begins at 8.55 a.m. and ends at 3.00 p.m. We have a 15 minute
break in the morning and have lunch from 12.00 noon until 1.1 0 p.m.
It is important that we begin our school day promptly. Children and
parents are welcome to come into school as they arrive, but not before
8.40 a.m. and it is essential that they are in the classroom ready
to begin the day by 8.55 a.m. We find that this start to the day is
peaceful as well as purposeful.
At the end of the school day parents wait in the playground for the
children and at 3pm the teachers take the children out to meet their parents.
